Gymnastics Trip!

Today we had lots of fun at the Waitakere Gymnastics Club in New Lynn. Here we are having a great time on the equipment. A huge thank you to the parents who came to help - Zidane & Ronaldo's Dad, Zahrah's Mum, Pilitati's Mum & Cousin, Carter's Dad and Anaru's Dad! You were all awesome!

Hosting Junior Assembly Friday 13th June 2014

On Friday, Room 8 hosted the Junior School Assembly. The class enjoyed presenting their Photo Sketch artwork and performing a story with actions as well as a song/dance to "Hey give me five". I was very proud of them all. Miss Head :)

NZ birds research on their habitats, diet & what they physically look like!

Room 8 are enjoying our inquiry into habitats and how different habitats can change depending on our environment and human choices e.g. Cutting down trees in forests where a lot of animals live! 

Pink Shirt Day!

Today we celebrated Pink Shirt Day campaigning against bullying. Room 8 enjoyed decorating pink balloons. Here they are looking pink and fabulous :-)

Science - the transformation of ice to water to steam!

Yesterday we filled 3 different sized zip lock bags with water halfway. We put them in the freezer overnight to turn them into icebergs. Today we took the bags out of the freezer and watched our icebergs melt. We made predictions about how long each iceberg would take to melt and watched them all closely. We poured some of the water into the kettle and watched it boil and turn to steam! We learnt lots about how ice transforms into a different state! What fun we had!!!

Welcome back to Term 2!

We have an exciting and busy term ahead. Today, the whole school participated in the Cross Country and we had so much fun. Here are some pics and videos of our awesome day!
